How to Play Chinese Checkers

Chinese Checkers is a classic strategy board game that can be played by two to six people, though this version is a 1-on-1 duel against the computer. Despite its name, the game is of German origin (originally called Sternhalma) and is not a variation of checkers. The objective is to be the first to race all of your pieces across the hexagram-shaped board into the opposing star corner.

Objective

The goal is to move all of your marbles from your starting triangle to the triangle directly opposite it on the board.

Setup

The game is played on a star-shaped board. You control the Blue marbles at the bottom, and the AI controls the Red marbles at the top. Each player starts with 10 marbles arranged in a triangular formation.

Gameplay

On your turn, you can move one marble. A move can be a single step to an adjacent empty hole, or a jump over an adjacent marble (yours or opponent's) into an empty hole beyond. You can chain multiple jumps in a single turn to travel long distances.

Winning

The first player to occupy all 10 holes in the destination triangle wins the game. Strategy involves creating jump chains while blocking your opponent's progress.
